Mental Health Services

 

Behavioral Link, a division of Pyxis

 

We have dedicated and caring staff which include licensed mental health professionals. Our focus is to preserve, promote and support links to the participant's family, school and community with unique and innovative elements to services.

 

We provide a variety of community-based mental health services including Psychosocial Rehabilitation (Group and Individual), Attendant Care, Anger Management and Out-Patient Therapy.

 

Psychosocial Rehabilitation treatment is a service designed to provide the youth with the opportunity to develop into an independent adult who functions successfully in the community. These services are provided with a focus on reducing functional impairments related to the youth's mental health diagnosis. We utilize activities to assist the youth in achieving their treatment plan goals in areas such as improvement of socialization, anger management and improving peer relationships.

 

Specific to Groups

  • Include youth ages ranging from 5 to 18
  • Offer incentives and rewards
  • Are tailored appropriately for specific ages, individualized service needs and location.

Specific to Individuals

  • Empowing youth with skill development activities in schools and communities
  • Most of these services are provided in school settings.

Attendant Care

  • This "one on one" service is primarily focused on delivering the medically necessary maintenance and support to the child to reach their treatment goals.
  • SED youth are given hope and encouragement to successfully manage challenges and stress in their lives.
  • Focused treatment may include improvement of socialization, anger management and improvement of peer relationships among other issues.
  • Youth are assisted in developing social skills, daily living skills, leisure time training and independent living skills.

Economic Employment Support (EES)
Serving Welfare-to-Work (TANF) participants with community service and work experience designed to develop pro-social skills, overcome barriers to employment. A highly structured, comprehensive and individualized placement system, job prep training, job skills development, case management and follow-up. EES features PowerEdge.

 

PowerEdge is an innovative, effective training curriculum designed to help individuals develop successful life and employment skills.  Interactive presentations offer interesting layered-learning. Participants are inspired to grow personally and professionally through gaining knowledge of personal value, positive attitude, positive and effective communication, goal setting, problem solving, community resources, customer service, a systematic approach to the job search including career assessment, and how to be a successful employee.

 

Vocational Rehabilitation
Providing participants with individually tailored services designed to overcome barriers to employment, we train and equip the participant to identify viable vocational options. We also assist the participant with the development of employment goals and objectives. Services also include community-based work assessments (CBWAs), job coaching, training/equipping, try-out, placement, and follow-up.

Juvenile Justice
This Community Integration program provides participants with opportunities for life changing growth and development through pre-vocational and vocational job readiness training and personalized placement. These services are designed to educate, equip, engage and empower youth to overcome barriers to employment and secure competitive employment. This systematic approach provides youth opportunities to fulfill community service requirements and pay restitution.

 

Workforce Investment Act (WIA) – Youth Services
Providing economically disadvantaged youth opportunities for work experience, academic enrichment, personal growth, pro-social skill development and other services.
