Pyxis (formerly called Job Readiness Training) was founded in 1994 to provide pre-vocational services to juvenile offenders, foster care youth, and children in need of care. The founder and president, a Kansas public educator, had a heart to serve those who were hard to serve, yet most in need. Since its humble beginning, the company has expanded to provide community and employment services to a wide array of populations, including education, mental health, vocational rehabilitation, welfare recipients, juvenile offenders and WIA youth. The company has served over 15,000 participants and expanded to multiple states, with multiple offices in each state.
Pyxis has distinguished itself with a proven ability to help at-risk populations overcome barriers. With a mission to provide each participant with the opportunity for an independent life, a collaboration with community partners, and the commitment of dedicated employees, Pyxis serves more than 1,200 participants each year.
